So far it’s great. Haven’t used yet. Waiting for hunting season. Everything so far as to looks, weight, installation & view is great. Used site for manual instructions on installation, etc. Piece of cake. Purchased because other sight was ineffective in low light coupled with brightness of the reticle. I do believe this will do the trick.

just in case you cant find the details, the viewing area/lens is 28mm wide. This is not a micro red dot, I’m using it for paintball / air soft. (I used a generic 35 mm $30 to $40 red dot sight in the past, however after taking a few hits, it would not hold zero any more.) Hopefully at 3x the price, this should be more durable. 5 stars for build quality, however unlike my old sight, the LED on this one is exposed, not protected with a glass/acrylic barrier, as I assume the engineers didn’t think this would be used for paintball. Since it is listed as waterproof, I expect paint on the LED shouldn’t be a problem for a Q-tip/alcohol bath. The lens frame is thin enough that it doesn’t interfere with my field of vision while snap shooting. I’m able to go from resting position, into a firing position with the dot on target within a split second.
Post play review: Performed great! holds zero very nicely after a day of play. (500 paintball used) The red dot is very clear, on a sunny day. The glass lens has high light transmission (this has an amber tint, which has higher brightness than the old replaced one-way mirrored lens sight.) Since the lens isn’t mirrored on the front side, I think there is less glare, and more stealthy. (I have been spotted in the brush in the past, when sunlight glints off the mirror).

ordered brand new. the battery tray screws are so bloody tiny, i had to dig through my tools to find a small enough bit. the tool to put the battery in did not come with it. once i finally got that far, the battery that shipped with it was dead on arrival, couldn’t get the optic to turn on, so i had to go to the store to buy a new battery. once that was sorted out it worked! changing the battery in the field would be annoying at best and after a few turns these screws look like they want to strip out of the head. weak design, use a more robust screw. after a few battery swaps just to get this thing up and running they feel end of life already. on the higher brightness settings you get alot of glare off the floor of the optic, not alot of clarity because of it but build quality seems solid though. good enough for the shotgun, but i would shop around for a better optic on an AR. i bought this as a backup sight for my shotgun, my rifles all have holosun on them. this was my first bushnell optic and probably will be my last. you get what you pay for in optics.

This does not have an aimpoint base, when I called Amazon about they refused to update the listing and said they would “investigate.” I didn’t realize the item sold here was different than how it is described until it was outside the return window, so they refused to do anything to resolve it. Extremely unhappy.
If you are only going to use the included baseplate it’s an okay red dot.

it came like this “factory”? some one use a pencil mark an arrow and the black glue doest cover the entire hole to cover the optic cable you can see the cable .and there some black glue on 4 pins makes almost impossible to take off the optic with the low mount. dot in 3rd brightsness setting start to bloom.

havent shot with it yet but seems to work fine but i hate the battery compartment… could have been done better

Looks good on my gun, bright and clear, would be 10/5 if it got motion detect
Tom55st –
Pretty good size for rifles and shotguns. Bushnell makes pretty good budget stuff. Will update if it breaks mounted on 45degree AR308
Paul (verified owner) –
