I’m really happy with this replacement forend for my two home defense Remington 870 Express Tactical shotguns (we have his and hers – how sweet).
Installation is a snap, especially if you’re familiar with breaking down your gun. Even if you’ve never removed your forearm before, it’s not a difficult process and there are plenty of videos on Youtube. Note that you WILL need a specialty tool to remove the forend locking nut (I have this one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07VP9VHQH).
The light is incredibly bright, and the long actuator pads on each side make turning the light on and off super intuitive. The design choice for a short press to turn the light on/off, and a long press to only turn on as long as you hold the button was smart and, again, intuitive.
Turning this light on will illuminate and temporarily blind a nighttime intruder. It’ll be the last thing they ever see.

Replaced an aftermarket forend that had replaced the stock forend of an 870 tactical. If you’re reading reviews on this, you know how to install it.
An issue I’ve encountered is the front sling mount im currently using obscures the light a little bit, but otherwise it works very well to about 50yds or so. It can get you enough light to get you a sight picture for the target. And this is purely from my LE use perspective.
The grip only needs a finger to activate the light. I unscrew the battery nut for car carry just in case I hit a bump and something activates the light. Just a couple turns make that happen, but you can use a flathead to fully secure the batteries. If you have a mount in your squad car, that works. Otherwise if it’s in a bag/case and bouncing around I’m the trunk- maybe unscrew it so the light works when you deploy the gun.

My expectations were fairly low for this item, but it far exceeded them. I used this to replace a light I had mounted to a Magpul forend, and the light on this one absolutely blew it away. The Streamlight provides a clear, ultrabright white light. I know there can be a lot of nit pickers in reviews, but I am not one of them. My ONE complaint is I don’t care for the way the switch operates. If you hold down on the switch it stays on, but a quick press while make it a pressure switch. I just think in a high stress situation one could get flummoxed and leave that light on longer than expected or wanted. If I could change one thing, it would be for this to just operate as a pressure switch: you press it and it is on and release and it turns off. For the price you pay, if you are looking for a light for your Remington shotgun, you can’t go wrong here.

The Streamlight TL-Racker was easy to install, with the help of an online video it took me maybe 30 minutes to remove the stock fore-end on my 870 and install the Streamlight. My 870 is my home-defense gun and it needed a light. This light barely takes up more room then the stock fore-end. The switch is impossible to miss and the 1000 lumen LED will light-up and disorient any goblin that made the mistake of invading your home. I highly recommend this light.
