Best Features:

- Unmatched Battery Life: 50,000 hours is unheard of in red dot sights. You can practically forget about ever needing to change the battery.

Disadvantages:
- Price: The CompM5s is a premium sight with a premium price tag.
- Bulkier Design: Compared to some newer micro red dots, the CompM5s has a larger footprint.

My Experience:
I’ve used the CompM5s on a variety of rifles, and it’s never let me down. It’s confidence-inspiring in any situation. The dot is easy to pick up, even in low light, and the sight itself is built like a tank. However, the size and weight might be a concern for some looking for a sleeker setup.
Customer Comments:
Online forums are filled with discussions about the CompM5s. Here’s a quick summary:
- Praise: Users rave about the durability, battery life, and overall performance.
- Criticisms: The price is a common complaint, and some users wish for a smaller profile.
Best for What Gun?
The CompM5s is a versatile sight that can be used on AR-15s, shotguns, and even some pistols. It’s ideal for anyone who needs a bombproof red dot for hunting, tactical applications, or home defense. However, if size and weight are top priorities, a micro red dot might be a better option.
Final Verdict:
The Aimpoint CompM5s is a top-of-the-line red dot sight. It’s not for everyone, especially considering the cost, but for those who prioritize ruggedness and reliability, it’s a fantastic choice.

This is in theory the most rugged Aimpoint RDS ever made. My one complaint is it doesn’t have enough brightness settings. It goes from what would be a 5 on a T-2 to a 7 or 8. I wish there was more brightness settings.

Brightening dot made the entire lens bloom red. Not at all the quality I would expect from a sight in this price range. Save a ton of money and get a Romeo 7s, same issues for a sixth of the price.

Easy to install and adjust tension if needed, support was good on a question and had solid follow up to resolve the question. If you have lens covers on you will need to completely remove the front cover to install the battery, simple to remove and put back on.

Shipped quickly and arrived perfectly straight from Aimpoint. Best red dot on the market, arrived brand new with the 39mm lower 1/3 mount and hex key to mount. It’s expensive, but buy once cry oncce.
