Affordable, but doesn’t feel cheap at all.

This is such a high quality sight well worth the money also the red dot sight with 65 moa is so clear and crisp with the magnifier. Also fast shipping came here 4 days before expected!!
I did my research and didn’t want to spend 1500 on a Trijicon with had a glowing rectal that never turns off,it uses some sort of chemical (tritium I believe) for illumination for its rectal. So what happens when the chemical runs out? Also some models have a small red dot sight on top of the sight in which you have to pay extra I believe for and you can’t quickly switch fast from close to far engagements. It just wasn’t my style and it makes it look like a “mall ninja” gun (tacky). Also the Aimpoints were another option I considered but it limited my field of view and look really fragile and small, you also have to buy a mount for them as well! So I then got and eo tech and fell in love it was great it had a “TV screen” style field of view meaning I can see more of my surroundings than the Aimpoint, ability to quickly switch between close and far sight with a flick of the wrist, and was in my price range and very durable with plenty of protection and ran on a cr123 battery which I can go to a store and get. Also included quick detach mount which was awesome and feels like it is well built and won’t snag stuff it also has a safety feature so you don’t unlatch it by accident and you don’t drop expensive sight on the ground. Plus it makes my gun look sick as *&%%!
EO Tech once again delivers great quality weapons sights, easy to mount and built like a tank (it just feels so right on the gun). I had the old big model 512, which was a great sight as well but it was to big and I wanted to and a magnifier. I am so glad I purchased this weapon sight. I always wanted my rifle to have close/long range capabilities. I had doubts about the flip to side mount but it is super solid and doesn’t wobble when rifle is being fired using only the holographic sight. Also the magnifier is so user friendly and you do not need any tools you can adjust the focus and the up and down left and right to complement the rectal. The button on the holographs sight to adjust between the hundreds of settings you can pick from is conveniently located on the side for easy access and has a night vision mode. Also the bullet drops works great if you know what your doing and use the right kind of ammo. But it is a little blurry when you only use the holograph sight without the magnifier, but I mostly use the magnifier for any target greater than 50-75 yards. So bottom line and no matter what distance i can quickly adjust my optics for close and distance targets which is what I want. In turn the sight works perfectly for what its is designed for.
I have a DPMS lower, LMT (upper) ,16inch barrel with a 1/7 twist, medium contour barrel and standard A2 muzzle. My point of engagements are 50 to 300 yards and I can hit man sized targets with ease. The sight works great everything I expected it is like the jack of all trades in witch the distances I shoot at!!! Fantastic!

Absolutely amazing. No worries about counterfeit merchandise, this has all the eotech paperwork and registration stuff in it, and I have confirmed it’s legit. The advantage in being able to aim while your eyes are both open and focused down range as this sight is designed for is absolutely huge. Reticle shows up perfectly when used properly, and the range of brightness settings are excellent. Yeah.. if you focus directly on the sight then it is blurry. Thing is if you’re doing that then you don’t know what you’re doing anyway, and probably should not own a firearm in the first place.

Was going back and forth between an ACOG with an RMR dot on top and the Eotech. After actually shooting both, finally went with the Eotech setup. Installation was amazingly easy. Just a FYI when you install the holographic portion, be sure you push the unit down and forward on your rail system as you latch down the quick release…this ensures you have a solid fit and it maintains zero much better. Otherwise, while it will be tight…there is a bit of room for slop and a zero shift if you drop the rifle or some other large shock to the rifle. The magnifier unit is clear and performs well. I guess what I like best is for short range work..say 50 yards and less the magnifier can be flipped over and just the holographic unit used. Since both are designed to be used with both eyes open…in theory both the Eotech and the ACOG should be the same, but I find for close-in type shooting, the Eotech just seemed to have the edge. One of the biggest advantages of this was that you can flip the magnifier to the side and use your BUIS with no problem.
No doubt if you are going to try and shoot 300 yards and more, the ACOG probably would be a better choice, but if I knew it was going to be a 300+ yard situation, I would probably opt for another caliber and rifle. Still I had no problem getting hits on a 12″ steel 100% at 200 yards. Much of the performance of this sight system at longer ranges is going to factor on how good your eyesight is at longer ranges. The magnifier is actually 3.25X, so hitting a silhouette at 300+ isn’t a problem provided you can see it at that range. I would say that shooting at 500 or more…well is it possible…sure, but that isn’t the primary designed purpose of this system.
For what I contemplate the use of the AR for, 400 yards and less…and mostly 0 to 300 yards, this is an excellent system. Another FYI. The 4 dot reticle does seem a bit overwhelming when you turn the thing on…and without the magnifier it pretty much looks like a straight line or post. Two things here…the unit always turns on (unless you are using the NV switch) at level 12…which is pretty bright. Turning the brightness down really helps when using the magnifier. Second…Eotech does state that to leverage the 4 dot system you need to use the magnifier..and you do. When using it for close in I just use it as sight post rather than trying to pick out individual dots and it works great. Besides…the top dot, at least on mine is sighted for 50/200 yards…and me trying to shoot a target beyond 200 yards…well the magnifier will be in use for sure.

I’ve always wanted an EOTECH Holographic magnifier combo. I’d never even used one before. I was originally thinking about an ACOG, but I wanted the versatility of long range and short without magnification. Plus the added benefit of unlimited eye relief when not using the magnifier. I’ve seen countless EOTECHs on other people’s equipment. This optic is amazing. I only had to make one adjustment after the first grouping. It 100% met my expectations. The magnifier flips up and to the side with ease. The reticle in the EOTECH is slightly fuzzy, but once you utilize the magnifier, it becomes crisp and clean. Mounting takes virtually no time at all. All QD levers have locks so you don’t inadvertently disconnect your optic. I have zero complaints
