I decided to go with this Feyachi RDS-25 Red Dot sight on my first AR-15 build. Lots of good reviews here on Amazon and also some good youtube videos demonstrating this Red Dot sight’s quality were enough for me to plunk down the $40 to try it out. After getting it installed (with no iron sights yet), it functioned well and was easy to operate. Two CR2032 batteries are included. Yes, I said “two.” That was a nice touch. The 11 brightness settings are all useful, with the brightest “it goes to 11” working nice for sunlight. A bikini cover is also included, which is also a nice bonus. You also get a cleaning cloth, allen wrench and an adjustment screwdriver. It mounted directly and securely to my Picatinny rail.
Then I received an email from Feyachi asking if I was happy, and if not, to please let them know. Right about that time, I had a moment where the sight would not turn on, even though I had not used it for more than an hour on the battery. I decided to tighten the battery cap and that seemed to correct the problem. I did decide to reply to the email from Feyachi and asked what the expected battery life is. The response was quick and helpful – “5 days at the highest brightness setting.” OK, great, nice to know. I since haven’t had any problem with the sight not turning on, so I’m convinced it was the battery cap not being tight enough. However, it was great to see a company with good customer service.
Fast forward a few days and I have also purchased and installed the flip up sights from Feyachi to use as backup to the red dot. After installing the flip up sights and trying with and without the 1″ riser that was included with the red dot, I discovered that there was no co-witness at all. I could not see the iron sights through the red dot. So I emailed Feyachi to explain. Technically there was no defect, just not the compatibility I was hoping for from two items from the same company. Nevertheless, Feyachi made it right with great customer service.
For those that want to use this red dot with iron sights, be sure to get a .83″ riser. This provides absolute co-witness. I got the “UTG Med-pro Compact Riser Mount, 0.83″ High, 3 Slots” here on Amazon for $9. Once I installed the red dot with that, I had absolute co-witness. Normally, I would deduct a star for something like this, but their customer service made up for that.
You can’t go wrong with this sight. It is well made, waterproof, has good battery life and Feyachi stands behind their product. Not to mentioned the price! Well done, Feyachi.

Bought this as my first optic for my first airsoft gun. Technically, I paid for it with giftcards but it’s worth the price regardless. It looks good on the rifle – aesthetics are key in airsoft. It works better than the iron sights most rifles come with. The dot is nice and bright (though not the cleanest). It’s pretty basic – one dot one color. Though, it comes with a lot of accessories including: 2 batteries, cleaning cloth, small screwdriver (for adjusting the dot), allen key, lens cover, and a picatinny rail riser (which I use for my M4). Now it holds zero very well for my M4 but since it’s and airsoft gun there’s no recoil. I have read other reviews stating it sucks for anything more than a .22 cal so bear that in mind. Obviously there are better options and better brands out there but I’m not willing to splurge on a Holosun reflex that’s worth more than the gun just to get it shot out on the field right now… maybe later.

works great on a small calibre rifle or airsoft gun, but other than that, its pretty gimmicky. The screws strip easily, I had to drill out one of the screws to remove the riser from my rifle.

Picked this up for a GSG 15 and straight out of the box it was bang on, was plinking cans at 25-30 yards with ease. The dot is decently bright, at max setting it is clearly visible in bright daylight, but not as bright as my Vortex Crossfire (to be expected at nearly 5 times the cost). When looking at the dot close to your eye, it is a bit more like a small line, but when mounted on the rifle 12-18″ in front of your eye, it looks perfect. Glass has a slight tint to it, but can still be seen through easily at lower light. Mount and body feel solid. Would def recommend this for those on the fence. Will have to see how well it holds zero, but on a .22LR I expect no issues with that.

Had this optic for 2 years. Great starter but I would not trust it with my life and I’d invest in BUIS. Why? 1) Batteries would die when it was turned off and sitting in my gun case. I suggest you buy a sleeve of CR batteries to keep in your case if you want to use it consistently. 2) It would never hold a consistent zero if your shooting more than 100 rounds at a time. So keep your adjustment tools close by. 3) Red dot is bright but not crisp, but that could be me. 4) Not a great long-term option if your serious about using red dot optics or using it for anything other than plinking or air soft.
Overall, it’s great for starting out on a budget. I’m an old Army iron sight guy and purchased this product just to get used to the new optic style shooting. It’s exactly that. A starter. But if your conducting tactical training, hunting, or defending your home—I’d save up some money and invest a little more for reliable options or make sure you have back up iron sights mounted. As for accuracy, when it did hold zero, it was good. But again, you never know when you’ll start throwing rounds down the drain with this thing.
It does mount well, feels OK and looks cool but you can get a better piece of mind with just a few bucks more like Sigs, Holosun, Bushnell or even CT if money is a challenge. I will recommend it as a starter option if your new to red dot optics. Didn’t take long for me to upgrade after spending more time and money always zeroing this thing every other outing.
