I’d been on the hunt for a red dot sight for my concealed carry pistol, something that wouldn’t snag on clothing but offered the precision and speed of a red dot. Enter the Holosun EPS, and let me tell you, it’s been a game-changer.
Specs and Features:
- Footprint: RMSc – makes it compatible with a wide range of subcompact and compact pistols.
- Reticle Options: 2 MOA dot, 6 MOA dot, or the versatile Multiple Reticle System (MRS) with a 2 MOA dot and a 32 MOA circle dot. I opted for the 2 MOA dot for its balance of precision and fast acquisition.
- Battery Life: Impressive with a boasted 50,000 hours on the lowest setting. Plus, the EPS boasts a solar backup panel, so battery life is a major stressor I can ditch.
- Durability: Built from tough 7075 T6 aluminum, it feels solid in my hand and has shrugged off everything I’ve thrown at it at the range.
What I Love:
- Size: This sight disappears on my pistol. It’s snag-free and comfortable for everyday carry.
- Solar Backup: This is a huge selling point for me. No more worries about a dead battery at a critical moment.
- Reticle Options: Having the option for different reticles is great. I use the 2 MOA for precise target work, but the MRS reticle seems like a great option for those who want a little more versatility.
- Durability: I’ve dropped it (not on purpose!), banged it around at the range, and it keeps ticking.
Not So Perfect:
- Tint: Some folks online mention a slight reddish tint to the glass indoors. I haven’t found it to be a huge issue, but it’s worth mentioning.
- Price: While not the most expensive red dot on the market, it’s definitely an investment.
My Experience:
Honestly, this red dot has made a world of difference in my shooting. My target acquisition is faster, and my accuracy has noticeably improved. It gives me the confidence to know I can handle any situation that might arise.
What Others Are Saying:
Users online rave about the EPS’s durability, praising its ability to withstand bumps and drops. The solar backup feature is another common point of praise. A few reviewers mention the tint I mentioned earlier, but most agree it’s a minor quibble.
Overall:
The Holosun EPS is a fantastic option for anyone looking for a compact, reliable red dot sight for their concealed carry pistol. It’s packed with features, built tough, and the solar backup gives me peace of mind. While the price tag might give you pause, the performance and features make it a worthwhile investment in my opinion.

Best green dot optic for your G19 or G45 or any compact full size gun! Save your packet change, bonus checks, moms/dads allowance, gma gpa Christmas money or your wife’s spa day and nail salon expense and buy this! Got lucky and got like the only one is stock shipped in about a week. I recommend the green 6 moa for astigmatism or not. The lower brightness levels actually make the dot the size of a 2 moa so if you don’t need the reticle plus dot or solar charging option (I like to be able to replace battery when needed) save some money. Happy Shooting!

I have a few of these EPS dots and I think they are very very good. Providing your mounting is compatible , I don’t think you can beat this. Particularly with a sale or coupon. Window feels bigger than 507C although I believe the measurements are the same. Low Deck height is great. Prefer the red over the green and the 6MO over the 2 MOA, but nice to have options. RMR adapter will not work if you were on the market has deserve style threaded post which is a bummer.

Great sight. This is my first time using a green dot and the green 6MOA dot I’ve found is best for my USPSA setup. This model does not have solar backup or multi reticle but for competition purposes, the 6 MOA green dot only has been the best.

I have become a huge fan of Holosun as their quality and features for users has come a long way…I thought the EPS would mount low enough to use standard height sights, but you still need suppressor height sights to co-witness…Optics quality, durability are all top notch…I will get the direct mount for Glock & H&K when available so I will not need a mounting plate or have to change out the sights to co-witness.

Purchased EPS (RED)6 MOA dot to put on my CZ P10SC and O.B. this dot is crisper than any other dot I've used hands down. It's a perfect round dot!! Wow, this is what its supposed to look like!! This is my 2nd Holosun with the other being the 508T with (GREEN) reticle and when I had it on the 2 moa dot only the dot Starburst so shot it with circle dot or circle only. EPS seem robustly built like my 508T time will tell. The one negative I've found is if you turn the dots brightness up a couple levels to make the dot super bright for the condition your in there's a glare of the roof of the closed emitter, but as soon as you turn it down for condition your in its not a factor dot is bright and crisp. Don't know in the future if manufacturers can put something antiglare like you have on your glasses on inside of closed emitter to stop the glare if you have dot turned up too bright. Great product you won't be disappointed if you suffer from astigmatism I would strong recommend you give EPS a CRISP LOOK!!!

Finally an enclosed optic for people who wanted the 509T but didnt want to shell out 500 for it.This uses an Aluminum body and no solar panel with a no frills attached nature. All you need is the shake awake feature and 2 MOA dot. It is well built and barely any distortion around the edges. It does have a noticeable blue tint, but in practice, you dont really notice it when shooting with both eyes open.I mounted this to my Taurus G3 with some minor modifcations to the TORO plate (dremel job) and it has performed flawlessly at the range and pins.
