Shipped and had it in 3 days. Unboxed it, mounted it and I am very impressed with the simplicity of it’s functions and especially the quick release mount!
Three weeks later and holds zero perfectly on a 7.62×39 ar build. Won’t look back at an Eo-tech again.

This pretty much has all the features I wanted in a home defense optic. However, the mount is different from what Holosun usually produces. I had an issue where it would wobble on my flat-top Anderson AM-15 upper. I don’t have any similar issues with any other optics. The wobble would be on the order of 30 MOA at least. It’s quite probably that my issue was a one-off fluke, but dissapointing nonetheless.
Other things to consider: it’s much larger than your typical Holosun, definitely much larger than your typical Holosun, and even with titanium housing, it is significantly heavier than an aimpoint micro or Holosun 503, etc. One of the features that attracted to me to it was the fact that it has self-sealing weatherproof turrets, so no need for turret caps (which I always seem to misplace). Unfortunately, the mount issue did it for me. If Holosun makes this optic with all the same features, BUT in footprint of an Aimpoint Micro/T-2/Holosun 503, etc., then I’d look into it again. For now, I have to look elsewhere.

In Defence –
Green reticle has a red reticle underneath the green. This is a factory defect.
CV –
Solid optic. Large sight picture. Wish it had come with a lower 1/3 mount stock but I had no functional problems with the included mount. Ended up adding a Scalarworks LEAP mount to bring it up to lower 1/3. Note that because of the larger diameter of this optic compared to the aimpoint micro you’ll need to buy an aftermarket mount in the absolute co-witness height instead of lower 1/3. Luckily the designers seemed to have taken this into account because the optic lines up pretty well with my magnifier with the lower 1/3 shim installed

This is a nice alternative to an Aimpoint equivalent. However it was not suitable for me and an AK patterned rifle. Otherwise a very nice optic especially with the quick release.

Gives the Trijicon MRO and Aimpoint Micro H-1 or H-2 some competition – especially for the price. Plus the battery placement on the right side is perfect for right handed shooters with far less obstruction of your FOV. Capless and sealed adjustment screws also help in this regard and make adjustment far quicker. And Parallax! WOW! That dot stays put when you move your head from side to side or up and down! I also have an Aimpoint PRO, and the Parallax on that is definitely noticeable – without even trying. Not noticeable at ALL on the HS530G-RD. I mean I had to really try, very, very slowly to notice ANY movement of the red dot. Plus with the Shake Awake feature, I can conserve battery while at the same time knowing if I have to grab my rifle it’s already on. And yes, it is very sensitive! The slightest movement and the red dot is on and ready. VERY pleased with this Holosun Red Dot!
Pro tip… get yourself a good quality laser bore sight with this if you don’t have one already so you are not wasting ammo at the range getting it zeroed in.
