- HOLOSUN GREEN DOT SIGHT – The SCS-MOS (Solar Charging Sight) is compatible with full-size GLOCK MOS systems; This pistol sight is designed to attach directly to the slide without an adapter plate and uses our innovative solar charging system with multi-directional light sensors to automatically adjust brightness in dynamic situations; NOT compatible with GLOCK 43X MOS or GLOCK 48 MOS, please refer Holosun’s “K” or “EPS Carry” optic for those models
- HIGH PERFORMANCE – The SCS handgun sight can potentially operate indefinitely using an internal, rechargeable 20,000-hour battery; This pistol sight also includes an intensity override function which locks the optic into a high brightness mode for 30 minutes and a low power indicator which warns of low battery days before charging is needed
- MULTI-RETICLE SYSTEM – This Holosun sight is equipped with MRS to let you select a fast sight picture for shorter distances with a 32 MOA circle with a 2 MOA dot; The large circle allows for a hold-over reference and helps guide your eye to the 2 MOA dot; Either the large ring or dot can be deactivated leaving 2 MOA Dot Only or 32MOA Circle Only
- MULTILAYER REFLECTIVE GLASS – This green dot sight is manufactured using optical-quality glass lenses with multilayer coatings applied to facilitate maximum light transmission and wear resistance while reducing glare and facilitating reduced power requirements; Holosun’s highly reflective coatings produce industry-leading reticle intensity, clarity, and battery efficiency

This is a great optic. Much sharper dot and “easier to find” than some of their competitors. Very easy to install. Trivial to “zero.” After 500 rounds, it is holding zero and functioning perfectly.
One downside (that I can live with) is the screws. Holsun is “cheap” compared to their competitors. They give you just the 2 required screws. If you mess one up or lose it, you’re … well, screwed. ~ $10 bucks to get another pair (This happened to me on an older Holsun 507C where I had to cut one of the screws that impinged on the extractor push rod…I cut the screw too short and spent over a month trying to a replacement.
A second complaint is the fact that the screws they do provide come with a big “glob” of Loc-tight. These tiny, tiny screws with very fine threads are hard to start and you have to be very careful to not cross-thread them. The glob of pre-cured Loc-tight keeps you from feeling what you need to feel to be sure the screw is not cross threaded. It’s hard to tell if the resistance to turning is from the Loc-tight or from cross threading. I much prefer clean screws that I can insert to test then apply LIQUID Loc-tight that lets you “feel the threads.” Waiting 24 to 48 hours for the “fresh” Loc-tight to cure is a small penalty to pay for being sure you didn’t “screw things up.” (i.e. cross thread)
Overall, a great value and I’ll probably buy another one. I’d recommend it to my friends

I have several Holosun optics, open emitters like 407C, 507C, 407K, 507K and closed emitters like EPS and EPS Carry and 403G. Have not had any issues with any of them and I use them regularly in training and in handgun/PCC competition.
Recently I got a Glock G47 MOS and was considering putting a 407/507 or maybe EPS series optic on the slide. Used the factory MOS plate to borrow a 507C from another pistol. But the fit on the slide was oversized and the MOS plate was flimsy, easily bent sheet metal. Was happy with general function on the G47 but wanted something smaller footprint, no iron sight obstruction. I trust Aaron Cowan’s Sage Dynamics optics tests — have bought & used many optics based on his positive reviews, and found his review valid in all respects. He gave the Glock MOS version of this new Holosun SCS a good rating. So I gave it a try.
Fits very well on the MOS slide cut. Factory iron sight picture unobstructed. Green reticle is plenty bright. Brighter than I’d prefer, but that really just makes it more like a 5-6 MOA dot, and I already like the EPS with 6 MOA dot so it’s fine. And it does a nice job of adjusting to ambient light, better than the 407/507 series do, in my experience. I don’t use auto-adjust on the others.
As to green vs red, I have a selection among my optics and don’t find any difficulty using either, except in very narrow cases of certain color backgrounds, green can wash out a bit easier. For a good sense of green vs red reticle choices and where they wash out, look on youtube for a video by deltathirtyfour, about reticle choices in ACOG optics. He has excellent video footage of backgrounds where green reticles can wash out, and where red ones do as well (also gold/amber in his comparisons).
I give the SCS MOS a 5/5 in all categories. Be sure to read the manual to learn where the well-camouflaged power button is on the optic. I didn’t even see it myself at first.

I ordered this optic for use on my new Glock 19 Gen 5 MOS. Part of the appeal is that it is designed to fit in the channel already machined into the slide of the gun without requiring an adapter plate. This reduced the number of parts needed to mount the sight (two screws, supplied) and improved the solidity of the mount. It went on without a hitch. It matches the finish on the gun’s slide perfectly and allows one to use standard height iron sights to aim the gun if by some chance the optic might fail or you forgot to turn it on. I changed out the original Glock plastic sights and replaced them with some TruGlo tritium night sights, so I’m good to go regardless of lighting. I purchased a red laser bore sighter here on Amazon to roughly zero the optical sight. I then went to the range and the initial settings I made with the laser were nearly spot on – only a slight change in elevation – about an inch at 10 yards – gave me perfect results.
The optic has two different reticles: a circle that is 32 MOA and a dot that is 2 MOA. You can also use both at the same time, effectively giving you a third reticle. You cycle through the three reticle settings using long presses of the on/off button. I’m still playing with which one to use. For slow fire, small target use, the dot seems preferable. For faster target acquisition, the circle or the circle + dot works better for me. The green reticle is more visible than a red one, so I like the color. There are two brightness settings. The lower one is the default, and could be a little dimmer for my money. A quick press on the on/off button selects the brighter setting, too bright, IMO. The single multi-function button is a little tricky to use, requiring a precise push. On the bright side, this fussiness will prevent most inadvertent button presses, so it’s a wash as an issue. This sight is powered by a self-contained battery that is kept charged by some small solar cells on the rear of the optic, so you never have to worry about dead batteries.
Forty-odd years ago, I was a Master class competitor in PPC contests. Unfortunately, time has taken its toll, but I’m still a decent shot (and working to improve). The optic gives me groupings of about 1/3 the size of those shot using just the iron sights. The main reason is that the optic eliminates the depth of field focus problem. The reticle and the target are both in focus at the same time, something my 75 year old eyes appreciate. It seems that every shooter at the range I use has an optical sight on their pistol; now I know why.
Some people like optics with several buttons to customize the sight. I opted for the simpler solution. I’m the kind of guy who usually buys the most complex accessories, but I’m finding that I either rarely use the extra features or I can’t remember the control sequences needed to invoke the fancier features. Simplicity is now my friend. The Glock is a straightforward gun to shoot. With the added tritium sights, this optic, and a Glock performance trigger, I have a reliable firearm with just the needed bells and whistles. I think I’ll leave it at that, and work on my trigger pull – the only thing that would hold me back from better target groups.
