Held zero after being dropped a couple of times.

Excellent red dot scope – easy to mount and to zero in.
The off switch – hold down ‘down button’ is a bit of a pain, otherwise well constructed.

Pros: this red dot sight has a decent battery life, is quite small, extremely light weight, and has a very wide window that makes viewing and focusing on your target exceptionally fast and easy.
Cons: you have to loosen a screw on the back of the sight to adjust the wind and elevation, and then tighten it after you have made the adjustments – all of which requires the use of a tool.
The battery compartment’s slide-in-islide-out door arrangement doesn’t exactly inspire confidence in the degree to which the sight is waterproof; unlike the Aimpoint sights, this sight is not submersible. Not having used this sight in the rain yet, I’ll have to save further comments on how waterproof it is for after I have.
One of the main reasons I purchased this sight was the large, extra wide viewer.
***Update 6/26/14: As usual, I made the mistake of assuming that a sight this expensive would be of the highest quality and would work exactly as it should. My problem was that I waited past the return date deadline to mount this sight and zero it in. The problem with this sight is as follows: the adjustment range on the elevation was just barely adequate to allow me to bring the dot on the sight up to the level where the dot from my bore sight device was; the windage adjustment range was inadequate to allow me to move the sight dot over to be in line with the dot from my bore sight device; the closest I could get the sight dot was some distance from the right side of where the bore sight dot was. What this means is that if I were to use this sight to engage a target at 25 yards, I would have to make a shot-in-the-dark type of guessed estimate to put the sight dot to the right of my target just far enough that my round would hit some distance to the left of the sight dot and strike the target where wanted it to.
Needles to say, this will be the last product I will ever buy from Vortex.

Likes:
Rugged design, large field of view, robust red dot which is visible in bright sun light, Friendly Vortex support, light weight, amazing warranty, the ability to change the power cell without removing it and it’s easy to zero.
Dislikes:
The lockdown sight screw is a very minor concern almost not worth mentioning. It’s kind of an unusual feature.

You get what you pay for here. Quality and built for the most abusive use. The window is one on the more larger windows on the market which makes acquiring the red dot fast and eaiser. The many different brightness settings makes it very easy to see in any lighting situation. Even in the most brightest Nevada sunny days, this red dot stands out and does not wash out. I have this mounted on a Walther PPQ Q5 Match pistol. This is an outstanding sight that so far matches equally in quality and ruggedness with the Trijicon RMR. I have both sights and I like the Vortex Razor better because of the larger window for dot acquisition.

Great product, quick delivery!

The sight itself seems to be o.k. It was floating around loose in the package, the package was not sealed. It was as if it was a demo model or something as it did not seem to be “new in box” condition. I have not been able to go to the range yet and see if it is accurate or not.

This is my second Vortex razor. I got the first one used, and I was really impressed. The dot is very bright, and once you set it up it is spot on. I really like how the battery is in a tray so it can be changed without having to remove and re-zero.
I would be remiss if I didn’t mention my experience with Vortex customer service. They were the reason I purchased a second unit. I mentioned I got my first one used. I sent them an email saying I had purchased a unit used, and I asked what size allen wrenches were needed to adjust windage and elevation. Rather than send me an email with the sizes, they sent me the allen wrenches. Fast forward to wanting to move that unit to a different setup. The used unit did not have the standard mounting adapter, as it was mounted into a custom cut slide. I again emailed Vortex and explained I purchased this used, and I asked where I could purchase the Picatinny rail adapter. Again, rather than telling me where I could buy one, Vortex just shipped me one. When I needed another red dot, how could I go anywhere else but Vortex? Vortex Nation for life, I guess!

I mounted this on my Walther PPQ M2 and it works great. Jedi, from Shooters Station in Conroe, Texas did a great mill job. It works especially well picking up steel and other targets in timed events and lower light. If you have “over 40 eyes” highly recommend. Brightness control great and it fits well in the Safariland GTS holster with dust cover on.

I already own a Vortex Razor spotting scope, a SPARC AR red dot, a VMX-3T magnifier and a Vortex Viper 6.5-20×50 rifle scope so I didn’t hesitate to buy this Vortex Razor red dot. From my own experiences I know Vortex makes great quality optics and has one of the best, if not the best warranties in the optics business.

The glass is so clear it’s almost like it’s not there.

Like most enthusiasts, I really want not only my moneys worth but, buy once, cry once has been my mantra. I have tried Leupold, Burris, etc. Well, you can keep them all. This Vortex Razor is hands down the best value and is a great piece of gear. With Leupold all I got was a “flare” on the dot whenever I went outside, Burris has too small a window. The Razor is worth every penny. Don’t look any further. This is THE red dot sight you want. Just click it!

All I can say is wow! Did a lot of research on many red dots for my new integral suppressed 10/22 and wasn’t afraid to spend money. This sight is extremely well made, accurate and very small. It also comes with a molded cover which I find a added bonus. Once sighted in there is a lock screw that prevents windage and elevation movement. My only recommendation is adjustment turrets that can be turned without a tiny allen wrench. Other than that its perfect. For the $ you can beat this product and this is my third Vortex purchase…scope and binoculars which I would also recomend. Peter Z
